Our Story

2026

Update: New name, new look

NUMECA becomes Simuneer: By changing our company name, we are sending a signal for the future. We are also sharpening our profile and revamping our entire corporate image.

Progress needs courage. We are convinced of this.

2024

Next Generation: The succession takes over

After 27 successful years, Dr. Thomas Hildebrandt is retiring from the operational business. With immediate effect, Patrick Shoemaker, Manuel Cellarius and Sven Albert (from left to right) will take over as Managing Directors as a trio:

2022

25th anniversary: Time to look back

We are celebrating our anniversary and looking back: We didn’t just go to the first product demonstration in 1997 with a laptop under our arm. Twenty-five years ago, the workstation (a DEC ALPHA) and its CRT monitor were packed into the car and off we went.

Laptop and web meetings are now standard. We also count: 100+ customer projects, 10,363 support requests, 36 published papers and 1 great team.

2021

Cadence comes, NUMECA stays

In the two decades since it was founded, our team has grown and flourished, adapting dynamically to the changing world. The biggest change for us: In 2021, the US company Cadence Design Systems takes over the CFD specialist NUMECA International — and continues to develop the CFD software under the name Cadence Fidelity®.

We remain the NUMECA engineering office and are now working closely with Cadence.

1997

First Generation: From the idea to the company

In April 1997, Thomas Hildebrandt founded the NUMECA engineering office. His business idea: software, support and services in the field of computational fluid dynamics. Hildebrandt relies on the CFD tools from Numeca in Brussels.

In the beginning, the company was still based in the family home. Over the years, the office space and team have expanded and the “one-man business” has become a “we”. But we have remained true to beautiful Franconia: we have been based in Altdorf near Nuremberg since 1997.
